4. Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Christian faith and calling

  • Pastoral recommendation

  • Writing sample

  • Faculty interview

Doctoral Programs

1. Purpose

Doctoral programs develop scholar-practitioners for advanced ministry and research.

2. Learning Outcomes

Graduates will:

  • Demonstrate theological mastery

  • Integrate research and ministry

  • Exhibit leadership and character

  • Engage diverse contexts

  • Produce original research

  • Communicate effectively

  • Model Spirit-empowered ministry

 

3. Degrees Offered

  • Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)

  • Doctor of Practical Ministry (D.P.M.)

  • Doctor of Theology (Th.D.)

  • Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss.)

  • Doctor of Christian Education (D.C.E.)

 

4. General Doctoral Admission Requirements

All doctoral applicants must:

  • Hold an accredited Master’s degree in theology or a related field

  • Demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to Spirit-empowered ministry

  • Provide evidence of ministry or leadership experience (normally 3–5 years)

  • Demonstrate advanced academic ability, including research and writing competency

  • Submit a Statement of Purpose outlining calling, ministry goals, and academic interests

  • Provide pastoral and/or academic references

  • Participate in a faculty interview

  • Receive approval from the Doctoral Admissions Committee

5. Program-Specific Admission Requirements

5.1 Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)

Applicants must:

  • Hold an M.Div. or equivalent theological degree

  • Have a minimum of 3–5 years of active ministry experience

  • Demonstrate current ministry involvement in a leadership role

  • Submit a preliminary ministry project proposal addressing a real ministry context

  • Show capacity for theological reflection and applied research

 

5.2 Doctor of Practical Ministry (D.P.M.)

Applicants must:

  • Hold a master’s degree in ministry or a related field

  • Have at least 3 years of full-time ministry leadership experience

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to practical ministry and discipleship

  • Submit a ministry-focused project concept

  • Show readiness for practice-based learning and leadership development

 

5.3 Doctor of Theology (Th.D.)

Applicants must:

  • Hold an M.Div. or equivalent academic theological degree

  • Demonstrate strong academic performance and research ability

  • Submit a substantial academic writing sample

  • Provide a research proposal outlining theological focus and methodology

  • Demonstrate readiness for advanced scholarly research and publication

 

5.4 Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss.)

Applicants must:

  • Hold a graduate degree in theology, missions, or a related field

  • Have 3–5 years of cross-cultural or mission leadership experience

  • Demonstrate active involvement in missions or intercultural ministry

  • Submit a missional project or research proposal

  • Show capacity for contextual and global ministry engagement

 

5.5 Doctor of Christian Education (D.C.E.)

Applicants must:

  • Hold an M.Div. or equivalent degree in theology or Christian education

  • Have 3–5 years of teaching, discipleship, or educational ministry experience

  • Demonstrate competence in teaching, curriculum development, or leadership

  • Submit a research or project proposal in Christian education

  • Show readiness for scholarly and practical integration of education and ministry

 

6. Spiritual and Academic Formation

6.1 Formation Model

Students participate in:

  • Mentoring and discipleship

  • Worship and prayer

  • Leadership development

  • Mission engagement
